Online Registration – Open October 1, 2009
Participants and teachers must complete the registration process at http://www.artandwriting.org. Click on “Register/Sign In” (found by hovering your mouse over the "Apply" graphic) to begin registration. Please print 2 copies of the completed submission form and obtain required signatures.

Processing Fee
This region adheres to the standardized processing fees established by the Alliance for Young Artists & Writers, the national nonprofit organization that administers The Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. These include a $5 fee per individual submission and a $20 fee per portfolio submission for those that meet the early deadline and $10 per individual submission and $30 portfolio submission for those that meet the final deadline.
Fee Waiver: Any student who currently qualifies under the Federal School Lunch Act for the
Free and Reduced Lunch program may request a processing fee waiver. Reduced fees are also available to students for whom fees would be a barrier to participation. A request from the student or the teacher for the processing fee waiver should be submitted on school letterhead and included with the work in place of the processing fee. Please contact the CWP for additional information.
Fee Schedule:
Early Submission Fee - Individual Entry: $5.00; Portfolio: $20.00
Final Submission Fee - Individual Entry: $10.00; Portfolio: $30.00
Reduced Fees:
Reduced fees are available for students eligible for federal “Free and Reduced Lunch” program or for students for whom the fees would be a barrier to participation. Please include a waiver request on school letterhead, signed by the teacher, coordinator, or principal, for any students needing to have fees waived or reduced, and include it with submission. A sample letter can be downloaded here.
