California Writes! is an outreach partner with the California Writing Project, community organizations, and family literacy and writing non-profit agencies to families and communities across California. California Writes!, as a non-profit organization, partners with these agencies and groups to provide students and their families access to programs and resources that strengthen the literacy and learning connections between home and school.

In collaboration with families, schools, and community organizations, California Writes! gives all students, especially those for whom literacy is in greatest jeopardy, opportunities to write and improve their writing. It gives opportunities for families and communities to write together and celebrate writing.

Together, we enact this belief—Encourage writing and reading! Start early to foster lifelong learners and writers!
